In this week’s Torah portion, Vayelech (Deuteronomy 31), we find Moses at the end of his journey. At 120 years old, he stands before the people of Israel, ready to pass the torch to Joshua.

Before stepping into eternity, Moses leaves them — and us — with a powerful message:

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
(Deuteronomy 31:6)

Moses knew that courage doesn’t come from our own strength — it comes from knowing God goes before us. He is the one who fights our battles. He is the one who never leaves us.

And when God later speaks directly to Joshua, He repeats the same words:

“Be strong and courageous.”

Why? Because we need to be reminded, especially in times of transition, that the same God who led Moses will also lead us.

Join me today at 6:00 PM Pacific Time on the Perfect Body Podcast: A Torah Portion Afterthought as I share insights from Vaylech, and how this call to be strong and courageous still speaks to us today.
