All Power and a Great Earthquake: What Happened When Jesus Gave Up His Spirit

Spread the love

Yes, our Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us and was raised again on the third day. Let’s read about that today. Let’s Oh, thank you, Jesus. It’s just such a wonderful, wonderful remembrance of what Jesus did for us. He did for all humanity, that he died for us a gruesome, terrible, horrible death.

Scourged and beaten for us. His blood was shed on the cross. He became a curse for us so that we might have everlasting life. Yes, for those who believe in him.

And when he was scorched, Jesus, he, was delivered him to be crucified. Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Cummin Hall and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers, and they stripped him and put on him a scarlet robe.

They gave him vinegar to drink, mingled with gall, and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink, and they crucified him and parted his garments, casting lots that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophet.

Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. That’s his Spirit. He died for us.

And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom, and the earth did quick and the rocks rent and the graves were opened.

There was a great earthquake. The veil of the temple rent tore in half. All the way from top to bottom. There was a great earthquake. And many bodies of the saints which slept  arose and came out of the graves after his resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared unto many.
