They had just seen Jesus feed five thousand men with five loaves of bread and two fish. Five loaves. Two fish. That’s a miracle. That’s impossible. That’s somebody’s lunch for one person. And He fed five thousand men. And then right after that, He comes walking on the water.
And they thought He was a spirit. They cried out. They were afraid.
And the Bible says they were amazed beyond measure and wondered, for they considered not the miracle of the loaves, for their heart was hardened.
Their heart was hardened.
They didn’t get the five loaves of bread. They didn’t understand what they had just participated in. Because when your heart is hardened, you’re going to miss some stuff. You’re not going to get it. You’re going to see miracles and call them coincidence. You’re going to see healing and call it timing. You’re going to see provision and call it luck.
But this is God Almighty at work.
When He went into villages, they laid the sick in the streets and begged that they might touch just the border of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made whole. As many. Not some. As many.
Jesus is still healing today. The Holy Spirit is here. This is not an everyday occurrence where people just randomly get healed. No. This is God. Let us not harden our hearts to the miracles He is doing every single day.
Only believe. Stay tender. And be made whole.
