Someone can applaud another person’s song prowess and not be at all in tune with God. The whole point of worship is to give God the honor He deserves, not dwell on the richness of a song. The song is a tool, yes, that should bring us into a quietness of the soul so that we can appreciate the Lord God and all He’s done for us. It’s you recognizing who God is.
God says you have to know Him in knowledge, meaning you need to know Him. You need to read the Bible. How can you worship God and not even know what He’s done? You don’t know what He did. You’ve got to be able to know Him. Yes, you probably have some experiences in your life where God did something amazing for you, and that’s probably why you’re worshiping Him, but He also did a lot of things in the Bible for others that He wants to do for you, too. You need to open your mind and expand it to the even greater things that the Lord can and will do for you as your God.
