Dating can be really fun. Dating can be exciting. Dating could be a very good time for you to get to know someone. I think that’s the purpose of dating. You have this attraction, right? You have an initial attraction to a person and it’s oh, he’s cute. Oh, she looks good. And I mean that. We’re human. That’s how it is.
We look at the outward appearance. We’re not God, but we can have His characteristics and His qualities, and we can learn to be discerning and, and gain discernment to see the inside as well as the outside. But initially, we look at the outward appearance. We’re looking at how they look, how they act, how they behave, how they appear to others. What kind of job they have? What kind of car do they drive?
God is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man, that he should repent. He looks on the heart. God says, man looks on the outward appearance. We, man, humanity, we look at the outward appearance. That’s how we size someone up. That’s how we judge others, which we shouldn’t be doing anyway.
God does not look on the outward appearance. He looks on the heart. God wants to know what your heart is like. And so I want to encourage you to be more like God. Take after Father God. He’s your father. Learn to be like Him, not to usurp His power like Satan but to follow Him, to do what He says to do.
