The Lord told Moses, “See that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” God gives a pattern first, then the plan to execute it.
The mercy seat is where God said, “There I will meet with you.” From above the mercy seat, between the cherubim, He would speak. I love the imagery of the cherubim, their wings overshadowing the seat. It’s holy. Even the lampstand had to be made from pure gold, shaped exactly as shown.
Where do you receive your pattern? On the mountain. In prayer. In those quiet times when you draw near to God. Moses was there 40 days and 40 nights. He wasn’t multitasking. He was receiving. If you don’t spend time with the Lord, how do you know you’re building according to His design?
When God called me to sing for Him in the year 2000, my immediate thought was, “Okay, I’m going to Hollywood.” But there were years of preparation I didn’t understand. Choir rehearsals. Guitar lessons. Songwriting development. Study. Practice. Refinement. God was building something in me before I ever stepped fully into it.
Sometimes the anointing shows up before the assignment. Moses had a heart to deliver Israel long before he actually led them. But killing the Egyptian wasn’t the plan. There was wilderness training. Family life. Hidden years. And maybe you’re in hidden years right now. That doesn’t mean God forgot you.
Just because it feels like others are moving faster doesn’t mean you’re behind. God’s pattern for you is custom. It’s intentional. And when the time comes, what He has built in you will sustain what He calls you to do.
God bless you, Shirah Chante, your relationship coach
