Jesus said:
“And call no man your father upon the earth, for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters, for one is your master, even Christ. But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.” Matthew 23:9
So I named this show One Is Your Father, because that’s what Jesus tells us. We have one Father, and that is Father God. Yes, we have fathers on earth whose job is to show us the role of a father, to help us understand how to relate to our Heavenly Father. But that doesn’t always work out so well. Not everyone has a father in the home. Some fathers leave. Some die. Some are present but abusive.
It is rare in this day and age to have a stable upbringing without following God. If you’re not following God, something is missing. God is what makes us holy. He makes us pure and righteous. Without Him, how are we righteous? How are we holy? It takes humility to say, “I’m not going to follow myself. I’m not going to follow my will, my emotions, my heart.” The Bible says the heart is deceitfully wicked. How can we follow our own heart? That’s why we have to know God and follow Him. He will put the right desires in our hearts.
It doesn’t matter if you had a father on earth or not. If you did, and he showed you the Heavenly Father, he did his job. If you didn’t have a father, you are not without hope. One is your Father, and He is in heaven. He is the only Father you need to survive, to live, to thrive, and to accomplish everything on earth. He is the Father who loves you unconditionally. Nothing will stop your Father from loving you. No mistake, no failure, nothing you’ve done is too hard for God to overcome.
He will never abandon you. He will never give up on you. The Bible says no one can pluck you out of your Father’s hands. No one. He has the whole world in His hands and He has you.
